The project

Pointe Oscorne

Grand Gaube, Mauritius

Envisioned for the serene coastal setting of Grand Gaube, Mauritius, the Pointe Oscorne Project was a proposed development aimed at blending the inherent beauty of the locale with a refined architectural ethos, encapsulating the essence of Mauritian and African styles. The masterplan and architecture design, developed up to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) stage, represent a thoughtful approach to sustainable living and community-oriented spaces.
The concept included residential villas, a fine dining restaurant, a yacht club, and an extensive wellness center with a spa and beauty parlour, all designed around the central motif of “The Circle of Life”. This theme highlighted water as the elemental source of life and purity, influencing the site’s layout and the positioning of its structures to enhance natural water features and views.
The architectural designs for the villas envisioned the use of local timber and stone to foster a connection with nature, integrating large windows and expansive timber decking to blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. This design philosophy was intended to create living environments that were both luxurious and intimately connected to the natural surroundings.
Further enhancing the nautical lifestyle, the yacht club and fine dining restaurant were to be strategically placed near a newly aligned marina, providing a dynamic social hub for dining and maritime activities, all while embracing the stunning waterfront views.
