Architect
Job summary
Main Responsibilities
· Interpret client requirements, site conditions, budgets, programmes and statutory constraints, and translate them into clear project briefs and design responses.
· Research, plan and develop architectural concepts, layouts and design solutions that respond to context, user experience and project objectives.
· Produce and coordinate concept designs, planning packages, technical drawings, specifications, schedules, renderings and presentation material across all project stages.
· Apply knowledge of construction detailing, building systems, materials, zoning, building codes, accessibility requirements and relevant regulations.
· Coordinate architectural information with interior designers, technologists, engineers, quantity surveyors, specialist consultants and contractors.
· Review consultant information, shop drawings, samples and technical submissions; identify risks, resolve clashes and protect the approved design intent.
· Support planning applications, tender documentation, procurement activities and contract administration, as required.
· Attend client, consultant and project meetings; record decisions and communicate actions clearly and promptly.
· Undertake site visits, review progress and workmanship, and assist in resolving design and construction issues through to completion.
· Contribute to project quality reviews, design-stage risk assessments and sustainable design strategies, including passive design, resource efficiency, reuse and material selection.
· Manage priorities across several projects and deliver accurate work within agreed programmes and quality standards.
Qualifications And Experience
· Master’s degree or professional degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
· At least five years’ relevant professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.
· A strong portfolio demonstrating design ability, technical competence and experience across project stages.
· Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials, building systems, codes, regulations and quality standards.
· Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and project information.
Key Skills And Competencies
· Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong working knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office. Archicad, 3ds Max or comparable visualisation software would be an advantage.
· Strong design, drawing, detailing and presentation skills.
· Clear written and verbal communication, with confidence engaging clients, consultants and contractors.
· Sound project management, organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· A collaborative, self-motivated approach, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
