The project
Vivea Business Park
St Pierre, Mauritius
Nestled within an 18.2-hectare estate, Vivea Business Park stands as a testament to innovative revitalisation in Mauritius. Formerly the bustling Mont Desert Alma sugar factory until its closure in 2007, the site has been thoughtfully transformed into a modern business hub that seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary design.
The masterplan showcases a harmonious fusion of old and new. The original sugar factory sheds and buildings have been tastefully refurbished, preserving their historical charm while integrating state-of-the-art communication technologies. This approach creates a working environment rich in character and atmosphere, setting a new trend in workplace design and lifestyle on the island.
At this time. key developments within the masterplan included the ENL Head Office Building, The Factory Office Building, Valetta House Office Building, the 1827 Building, and ‘La Distillerie.’ Each structure embodies a unique blend of historical significance and modern functionality, providing dynamic spaces that cater to a variety of business needs.
Beyond these landmark buildings, the estate is strategically divided into plots earmarked for future office developments in later phases of the masterplan. This forward-thinking design ensures that Vivea Business Park will continue to evolve, offering opportunities for growth and innovation while maintaining its commitment to preserving the site’s rich heritage.
Vivea Business Park is more than just a business estate; it’s a visionary project that honors its past while looking toward the future. By repurposing historical structures and embracing cutting-edge technology, the masterplan not only revitalises a significant historical site but also sets a new standard for sustainable development and modern working environments in Mauritius.
