Valleta House

The office for Architects Studio Ltd. is in Vivéa Business Park in Moka, the site of an old colonial sugar factory. The office is located in “Valetta House” which used to be an old locomotive shed and station, servicing train lines running through the grounds of the old sugar factory. Valetta House was re-configured and designed by Architects Studio, and the entire structure was re-built using existing materials from the old train shed/station which was dis-assembled & re-assembled on site with a few modern changes. The building comprises 2 blocks, one a Technical Block where all the architects, technicians & interior designers work and the other an Administration Block where the management, finance & reception reside. The blocks are linked by an amenities space consisting of an outdoor deck for meeting and dining with a kitchen and toilet block. The interiors give a nod to the past with contrasting industrial finishes such as rusted metal, corrugated metal sheet cladding and timber accents, while modern furniture & design together with surrounding gardens & greenery makes “The Studio” a pleasant space to work.
